The first LegalMatch Rooftop Basketball Tournament draft of players for the Fall Season took place in the Penthouse Tuesday. Laurie Ziffrin, Patricia Rae, Ona Ahumada, Diane Tran, Ushma Multani and Leslie Murray – the captains, each selected 4 men to compete in this upcoming 6 week Tournament. The 6 teams are now busily dreaming up team names to capture their essence. 2 teams have already come up with monikers that seem appropriate for their squad. Ushma Multani, Pete Reis, Teejay Clemena, Alex (the Mexican) Karzag chose Affirmative Action. While Patricia Rae’s group of Neil Fradkin, Yuri Gelman, Rob Devereaux and Ben Wells have branded themselves as Revenge of the Nerds..
The Schedule is being drawn up and should be released by this Friday morning. The first set of game are slated for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of September 7th through 9th.
Odds on favorites to win the whole thing…right now looks like…Patricia Rae’s group. But who knows… anything can change in the span of a week.
